Blogs lezen doe ik eigenlijk al net zolang als bloggen zelf, wat dit jaar al meer dan 10 jaar is (wow!). Het begon met blogs van bloggers als Yara Michels die toen Chick’s Got Style had, Rumi Neely van Fashiontoast en Karla van Karla’s Closet. To name a few. Geen van allen hebben een blog meer, want hun content is allemaal verplaatst naar Instagram. Nu is het blogger landschap best veranderd en heeft een blog in mijn ogen veel meer informatieve waarde gekregen. Vooral fair fashion blogs.
Fair fashion blogs
Voor elke interesse is er wel een blog out there tegenwoordig. En ik word dan ook heel blij dat er steeds meer blogs zijn die informatie en andere leuke content delen over duurzame mode. Want door die fair fashion blogs, leerde ik onder andere over de impact van fast fashion op het milieu en de mens, maar ook dat er heel veel toffe merken en platformen zijn in die community. Ik zet mijn favoriete fair fashion blogs in dit artikel op een rij, make sure to check them out!
When Sara Smiles
Sara is geen onbekende op mijn blog, want een paar jaar geleden interviewde ik haar over haar oude blog Trendzucht. Time flies! Ik herken veel dingen die ze deelt over shopgedrag (de vele pakketjes, het verbergen dat je weer wat nieuws hebt gekocht bijv.) en vind haar wat diepere, meer filosofische artikelen dan ook heel interessant om te lezen. Daarnaast vind je op When Sara Smiles ook kritieke stukken en ben ik via haar website op een paar hele mooie duurzame merken gestuit.
The Fair Wardrobe
De blog The Fair Wardrobe is van Robin en volg ik nog niet zo heel lang, maar I’m glad I did :). Doordat ze recentelijk (in 2020) de omslag heeft gemaakt om niet meer aan de fast fashion industrie mee te werken en dit deelt is haar blog fijn om te volgen als je ook in die omslag zit en op zoek bent naar informatie over duurzame mode. Je vindt er handige tips en feiten, maar ook haar bevindingen. Neem zeker een kijkje als je ook into vegan eten bent, want ze schrijft niet alleen over duurzaamheid maar ook over beauty en vegan eten. Daarnaast deelt ze ook veel op haar Insta over haar journey!
Kouwe kleren
Van de artikelen van Hermien van Kouwe Kleren krijg ik altijd spontaan zin om mijn kledingkast te analyseren en er het beste uit te halen. De challenges die ze doet geven altijd goede inzichten. En ze geeft tips over handige apps, leuke tweedehands shops en hoe je kunt minderen met consumeren en werken met wat je al hebt in je wardrobe. Zoek je tips om je kleren vaker te dragen? Hoe je een jaar lang geen kleding koopt of hoe je je kleding met succes online verkoopt? Hier schreef ze allemaal artikelen over, zeker een blog aanrader dus!
Project CeCe
Dit online platform is het beste te omschrijven als de zoekmachine voor duurzame mode. Daarnaast schrijven ze op hun blog ook informatieve artikelen over fair fashion en maatschappelijke onderwerpen. Zo las ik hier laatst over de EU die stemt over een wetsvoorstel om eerlijke productie te verplichten. Soms vergeet ik dat fashion issues ook maatschappelijke issues zijn en dat ik wel een beetje op de hoogte moet blijven wat er gebeurt in die tak van de industrie, juist omdat er ook zoveel positiefs gebeurd! Ook leuk: het platform is founded door drie vrouwen, waaronder twee zussen!
Yaika Tak
Nog een blog die ik recent heb ontdekt en waar ik ook helemaal fan van ben. Yaika’s blog is niet per se een fair fashin blog, maar ze schrijft er wel over. Die afwisseling vind ik juist zo leuk. Ze schrijft onder andere over fashion & beauty, reizen en mindset en doet dit op een heel consistente manier waar ik zeker wat van kan leren! Haar artikelen over duurzaamheid en handige tips over bijvoorbeeld groeien met hulp van Pinterest vond ik heel waardevol.
